Col. (Ret.) Ben Malcom Collection
Scope and Contents Note
The Ben Malcom Collection includes personal research for Col. Malcom's book, "White Tigers: My Secret War in North Korea." This entails copied newspaper clippings, magazine articles, original photographs, copied book chapters, copies of theses and reports, and interviews with other Officers who fought in the Korean War. The Collection also includes correspondence, manuscripts for his book, his own recordings, and transcripts of those recordings.

Biographical Note
Col. (Ret.) Benjamin Malcom was born December 20, 1928 to Jamie and Mamie Malcom in Monroe, Georgia. He went to North Georgia College & State University from 1946 to 1950. Immediately after graduation, Col. Malcom was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. Infantry training officer in Fort Knox. He was stationed in Korea from January 28, 1952, to December 29, 1952. During this assignment, he was stationed in North Korea at the head of the Donkey Units, which consisted of North Korean partisans who used guerilla warfare to fight North Korea. Col. Malcom retired from active duty in 1979 and served his country for 29 years. In 1996, with his collaborator Ron Martz, Col. Malcom published his book "White Tigers: My Secret War in North Korea," which is about his experience in the Korean War.
